Queensland Police Museum Sunday Lecture Series: 31 July 2011, 11am

Task Force Hydra – Policing Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs

Task Force Hydra was established in September 2006 in response to increasing violence from Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs in Queensland and Australia. 

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Knowles of State Crime Operations Command’s Organised Crime Group, will present  “Task Force Hydra – Policing Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs” which will discuss the creation of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs generally and in Queensland, the impact of Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs in the state and how the QPS, through Task Force Hydra, is policing these groups.

Detective Senior Sergeant Knowles will discuss two investigations conducted by the task force into criminal activities, the outcomes of those investigations and their impact upon Outlaw Motorcycle Clubs.

The one-and-a-half hour presentation will begin at 11am on Sunday, July 31 and will provide interesting and educational content suitable for any audience.

The museum opens its doors to the public on the last Sunday of each month from 10am to 3pm from February to November in addition to the standard Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm opening hours. Monthly Sunday openings feature guest speakers from across the historical and crime-solving spectrums.

PLEASE NOTE: The Police Museum will open Sunday, July 31 from 10am to 3pm, and is located on the ground floor of Police Headquarters, 200 Roma Street, Brisbane.
