$12,500 ABR Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize is currently open!

Entries are now open for the 2020 ABR Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize, worth a total of AU$12,500. The Jolley Prize is open to all short story writers writing in English. We seek original short stories of between 2,000 and 5,000 words.

First Prize: $6,000
Second Prize: $4,000
Third Prize: $2,500

Judges: Gregory Day, Josephine Rowe and Ellen van Neerven

Entry fees and bundles

AU$15 for current ABR subscribers and full-time students*
or AU$25 for non-subscribers**.

Entrants who are not current ABR subscribers can choose to subscribe
when submitting their story for the special combined rates listed below:

Entry + Print subscription (Australia) – $95
Entry + Print subscription (NZ and Asia) – $165
Entry + Print subscription (Rest of World) – $180
