Sulari Gentill is the author of the award-winning and best-selling Rowland Sinclair mysteries, the Greek mythology adventure series The Hero Trilogy and the literary novel Crossing the Lines, which won the Ned Kelly Award last year. Gentill set out to study astrophysics, graduated in law, and then abandoned her legal career to write books instead of contracts. We are delighted she’ll be joining us to talk crime, writing and how to grow a black truffle!

Join Sulari Gentill, winner of the 2018 Ned Kelly Award, at her only Huon Valley event to celebrate the release of All the Tears in China, the latest Rowland Sinclair adventure.

In this evening of matched wine and readings from the dapper 1930s gentleman detective’s foray into China, each attendee will receive:

– three glasses of gorgeous Huon Valley wines,
– matched with three readings from All the Tears in China,
– sumptuous tasting platters from Cygnet Old Bank, and
– a signed copy of the novel.

Sulari has kindly included Tasmania in her tour to support fundraising for the new Huon Valley writers festival, the Terror Australis Readers and Writers Festival. All funds raised at the soiree will be matched dollar for dollar by MATCH Lab, in support of the 2019 staging of the festival – Murder She Wrote – and literacy in regional Tasmania.

Sulari Gentill is the award-winning author of the Rowland Sinclair Mysteries, which won the Davitt Award for Best Crime Fiction, and Crossing the Lines, her literary thriller which won the Ned Kelly Best Crime Book this year. She has also written a trilogy for teens set in Ancient Greece.

Born in Sri Lanka, Sulari learned to speak English in Zambia, grew up in Brisbane and now lives in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains of NSW with her historian husband and two children where she grows French black truffles and writes.
